What is Four-Color Printing?

Four-color printing is a common printing method used for producing publications, posters, business cards, and other printed materials. It utilizes four basic ink colors - cyan, magenta, yellow, and black (CMYK) - in varying combinations and proportions to produce a wide range of colors.

In four-color printing, each of the CMYK colors plays a specific role. Cyan is used to produce blue and green hues, magenta is used for red and pink, yellow for yellow and orange, and black - also known as the key color or K - is used to control depth and contrast in the image.

Printing is achieved by separating the image into the corresponding color plates, each of which corresponds to one of the ink colors. Each pixel is printed with a certain amount of the corresponding ink, creating a mix of colors that can produce rich and vibrant images. Four-color printing can be adjusted to achieve different color tones and gradients, enabling sharp detail and smooth transitions.

Four-color printing offers several advantages, including high speed, accuracy, and lower costs.
